Peter Richard Langlois

Sgt Peter R. Langlois, with a journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals. He was lucky enough to return home for a career in news reporting, public relations, and to raise a family. While in Vietnam Peter served in the 2/22nd ("Triple Deuce") Infantry, Alpha Company, from July 18, 1968 - July 16, 1969, near Tay Ninh, the Boi Loi Woods, and spent the 2nd half of his year in Dau Tieng as Company Clerk for his unit. He passed away from a rare Agent Orange cancer at age 59, December 18, 2004 after struggling with cancer treatment for 15 years.

I am Peter's only sibling , Annette Langlois Grunseth (younger sister); to honor my brother and the wishes of our parents I have published a book of the letters Peter Richard Langlois wrote home from his Basic/Advanced Infantry Training and his year in Vietnam. The letters are exceptionally well-written and detail each of the battles his was in. His letters are available in the book "Combat and Campus: Writing Through War'' (Elm Grove Press, Old Mystic, CT, 2021) Learn more about the book, and/or purchase from my website www.annettegrunseth.com
